Reza Mirkarimi

Reza Mirkarimi was born on January 27, 1967 and hails from Tehran. He had graduated from the Fine Arts University in Graphic Arts. His first feature film 'The Child and the Soldier' had won several national and international awards, including the Golden Butterfly at the 1999 Isfahan International Children and Teenagers Film Festival and more. His second feature film 'Under the Moonlight' had received critical acclaim and had won the Best Director's Award as well as the Special Jury Prize at the 2001 Tokyo IFF. Three of his works have been submitted by Iran for the Best Foreign Language Film for the Oscars.
