Born in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, Ethiopian-Irish actress Ruth Negga is recognized for her roles in films like Isolation, Warcraft and Loving, and roles in the Television BBC's mini-series 'Criminal Justice' and ABC's Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Negga was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Actress, Golden Globe Award for Best Actress in a Motion Picture - Drama, BAFTA Rising Star Award ans several awards for her performance in 'Loving'.
Negga made her screen debut in the Irish film Capital Letters, prior to which she was working in theatre. She has been featured in many prominent roles in TV series such as the lead role of Doris "Sid" Siddiqi in the BBC Three series Personal Affairs and her recurring role as Raina on the American TV series Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
Negga has confirmed that she has been dating and living with actor Dominic Cooper in London since 2010.
