Vetri is an engineer who has lost his job in Chennai because of a very peculiar bombing. He borrows money from a notorious money lender, Vatti Raja, for his sister's marriage. However, months later, when he's unable to pay him back, he finds the goon hot on his heels. To add to his misery, his love, Veni, decides to elope with him, and her dad Saravanar lodges a complaint against him at the local police station. This sets in motion a complex sequence of events, with Vetri and Veni being hunted from all angles. Will they succeed in returning the money to the loanshark before time runs out?
