Nagarapuranam (1997)

Spiced with fast-paced action and charged emotions, this complex tale delves into the interwoven lives of three men. Sathyanarayana is an exceedingly wealthy, elderly man who keeps getting drunk due to sorrow and pain from past events. Manickan Tamburan is a thug and a professional killer, who uses aggression and violence to make a living, but he's also a kind-hearted man who does not like to unnecessarily harm people. Mani Kuttan is an impoverished man who has a family to support, but when he quits his job as a bartender, he becomes unemployed. In a funny sequence of events, he gets Manickan into trouble with the police. Consequently, Manickan and his men vow to exact revenge upon him. In another set of events, Sathya takes his car out in an extremely intoxicated state and almost has a serious accident. When Mani Kuttan saves him and brings him back home safely, Sathya places his trust upon him and gives him a job as his driver. However, in the morning, things go awry and Mani Kuttan finds himself in trouble with the police. Mani Kuttan finds out that his mother has early stages of cancer and will require expensive surgery immediately. Desperately in need of cash, Mani Kuttan finds himself in a dangerous web of deception and danger. Can he succeed in getting out of all his troubles and yet ensure that his mother is provided the medical treatment she desperately requires? How will Sathya and Manickan impact Mani Kuttan's life?
