My Life Partner (2014)

The movie narrates the story of two friends-turned-lovers Richard and Kiran, both born and brought up in different cultural backgrounds. Richard is from a business family and naturally he is expected to take over his family business. With his strict upbringing, he finds the taste of freedom rejuvenating when he moves to a hostel and meets Kiran, a US-born boy of separated parents. As their relationship grows, it alters both their lives. For both Richard and Kiran, because of their experiences, the sacred bond of marriage between a man and woman is just an ironic joke. When Kiran goes through a rough patch in life, Richard’s care and love bring him back from the brink. They realize that if both of them care and love each other they should be allowed to spend their lives together. Issues crop up when they plan to add a baby to their lives, to reinforce their love. Indian law does not allow a man to adopt a child on his own. As a solution, Richard, who admits that he may be bisexual, marries an orphan, Pavithra. Things take a turn for the worse, when Pavithra discovers their relationship.
