Trivia:
Aaron Pierre and Kelvin Harrison Jr. were both born in 1994 the same year that the original film came out.

There is no evidence to suggest that the live-action reboot of The Lion King (2019) took any elements from straight-to-video/DVD sequels by DisneyToon Studios. The live-action film is a standalone adaptation of the original animated film, and does not include characters or storylines from the spin-off sequels. The Lion King 1½ and The Lion King 2: Simba's Pride are animated sequels produced by DisneyToon Studios, and are not part of the same continuity as the live-action reboot. The live-action film focuses on the core story and characters from the original animated film, and does not include elements from these spin-off sequels.

There is no evidence to suggest that Scar and Mufasa were ever intended to be unrelated in the original drafts of The Lion King. In fact, the story has always been clear that Scar is Mufasa's brother and Simba's uncle. The original 1994 film and subsequent adaptations have consistently portrayed Scar as Mufasa's brother, not a rogue lion unrelated to the Royal Family.

The Film is to be released on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the original animated film
