Trivia:
This film released a decade to the month after its predecessor Mamma Mia!.

Meryl Streep filmed all her scenes in one week.

Meryl Streep and Lily James, the two actresses portraying Donna, are distant relatives.

Despite playing them playing mother and daughter, Cher is just three years older than Meryl Streep.

The story is supposed to be set on the Greek island of Skopelos but is actually filmed on the remote Croatian island of Vis.

The musical score playing during the end credits is a medley of songs featured in the first film.

Benny Andersson appears as a piano player during the Waterloo number. He is one of the members of the ABBA which the musical is based on.

In the first film, Cher was offered the role of Tanya which she turned down. She appears in this movie but in a different role.

The film choreographer is the same choreographer who worked with the traveling Mamma Mia North American Farewell Tour.

After appearing in "Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again", Cher decided to make a full album of ABBA covers.

Previously, Hugh Skinner and Amanda Seyfried both appeared in the 2012 film Les Misérables.

"Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again" marks the second film collaboration between Cher and Meryl Streep.

Cher, who is playing Sophie's grandmother in this movie, had a cameo in ABBA's last video in 2004.

Lily James and Stellan Skarsgard also appeared in the live action version of Disney's Cinderella.

Previous to this film, Celia Imrie and Julia had appeared together in Dinnerladies.

Amanda Seyfried was told by her agent that the film had been officially green-lighting, exactly on the day she came home after giving birth to her daughter.
