Le Fardeau (TBA)

Rd. and Ri. are a close-knit couple who are very invested in the activities of their church. But they live with a terrible secret: both are sick with AIDS, a disease they carry with them as divine punishment. So when Rd. is offered the position of assistant pastor, he doubts: is he worthy to lead Christ's church? But how can he refuse this place when he is unemployed and depends entirely on his wife's small business? The Covid pandemic makes the couple's situation even more difficult. ARV drugs are becoming scarce in Bangui, and a rumour is now spreading that AIDS patients could lose their lives if they were ever vaccinated against Covid19. Laugh. is convinced that a miracle is possible. Out of love for her husband, she embarks on the unlikely quest for a miraculous cure. She takes Rd. to churches and places of pilgrimage, the two lovers run together prayers of repentance and spiritual fasts in the hope of enjoying divine favor.
