While traveling Dr. Vijay Verma witness some men assaulting a laborer; he intervenes and mercilessly beat them up. A few days later he is approached by the village Sarpanch, Dharamraj and threatened not to take matters further but he ignores this. Then one morning the dead body of his assistant is found in his dispensary; the case is then called up in court where by his witness turns hostile, he is sentenced to a long jail term and his wife, Aarti is accused of having illicit relations with his deceased assistant. She is then outcast from the village by angry villagers and handed over to Bombay's police officer, Pandey who attempt to sexually molest her; when she resists her daughter is killed. A few days later she approaches Minister, Channdas for justice but to her shocked she is instead raped by the Minister. She then attempts suicide but is rescued by advocate Bharti Mathur who promises to fight her case in a court of law ensuring that justice prevails. But Bharti herself is unable to do much due to extreme pressure from her politician husband, Chunautilal. After completing his jail term Vijay's attempts to locate his wife are fertile until one day when he happens to see her in the company of Channdas. He then misunderstood this scenario - without knowing that Aarti is doing this with an ulterior motive that will benefit him and her.
