Isla Nublar now features a fully functioning dinosaur theme park, Jurassic World, as originally envisioned by John Hammond. After 10 years of operation and visitor rates declining, in order to fulfill a corporate mandate, a new attraction is created to re-spark visitor's interest, which backfires horribly.

Did you know? Steven Spielberg had shot the first Jurassic Park in 1.85:1 aspect ratio, which was also used in the second and third installments. Spielberg wanted the same for Jurassic World, but director Colin Trevorrow wanted to shoot in epic 2.39 widescreen. The compromise was 2:1 — an infrequently used format, but one that maintained some degree of consistency with the previous films, while adding the widescreen scope Trevorrow desired. Read More

Trivia:

The T-rex in the film is the same one from the original Jurassic Park (1993).

The new dinosaur "Indominus Rex" features a Velociraptor-like stance and an Allosaurus-like head.

In the Season 2 Parks and Recreation (2009) DVD, Chris Pratt made a behind the scenes video where he reads a fake text from Steven Spielberg about being cast in Jurassic Park IV. Pratt was eventually cast as the lead in Jurassic World, which is the fourth Jurassic Park movie.

Executive Producer Steven Spielberg's came up with the idea for the gyrosphere, which allowed park visitors to navigate it themselves.
