Joker (2016)

Inspiring and insightful, this socially relevant saga revolves around Mannar Mannan (Guru Somasundaram), a sincere and motivated young man, whom the villagers consider a joker. He cares about people deeply, declares himself the 'People's President' and raises his voice against corruption in his area.

In a flashback, it is revealed that Mannar Mannan has suffered a terrible tragedy in his past, that has left him mentally disturbed. His mental health deteriorated when his wife Malliga (Ramya Pandian) went into a coma after a terrible event caused by the negligence of politicians and government officials, a tragedy for which the loopholes in the system were used.

With Malliga lying in a comatose and vegetative state , Mannan and his like-minded friends Ponoonjal (Ramasamy) and Isai (Gayathri Krishna) file a petition in the Supreme Court for Malliga to be euthanised. What trials and travails will the trio face during their battle for Malliga to be allowed a merciful and dignified death? What will the Supreme Court's judgement be?
