A decade after he exposed Operation Blackbriar, in which he published the CIA's list of targeted assassinations and disappeared, Jason Bourne has finally recovered from his amnesia, isolating himself from the world and making a living by taking part in savage, bareknuckle fighting bouts.
In Reykjavík, Nicky Parsons, hacks into the CIA's Black Ops program and finds documentation concerning Bourne's recruitment into Treadstone and his father's role in the program. She travels to Athens to find and inform him. CIA teams try to hunt them down and Parsons is shot, but before she dies, she passes Bourne the key to a locker which holds the CIA files.
Seeking answers about his past and family, Bourne decrypts Parsons' files and discovers that his father, Richard Webb, was a CIA analyst involved in the creation of the Treadstone program. A 'malware' program implanted in the files gives the CIA Bourne's location and immediately teams are sent to capture him, while the files are erased from a remote location. Investigating further, Bourne learns that his father created Treadstone, but tried to prevent them from recruiting his son. Consequently, his father was murdered in a staged attack that was blamed upon terrorists.
His father's death at the hands of terrorists was enough to convince Jason Bourne to join Treadstone. Can Bourne eliminate the power-hungry director of the CIA before he causes more destruction? What will the future hold in store for him?
