Trivia:
This movie introduced actor Karthi as a singer as he crooned the ‘Mississippi’ song along with Premgi Amaren. The director of the film revealed that Yuvan decided to restrain himself from using the vocalizer for Karthi as he liked the raw voice of the actor.

Yuvan Shankar Raja composed the score and soundtrack of 'Biriyani', which marks his 100th film.

The director, Venkat Prabhu disclosed that iconic composer A. R. Rahman, was also supposed to sing one of the songs along with four other singers, but that he could not be signed owing to a contract that prevented him from singing for other music directors

A set of a hotel worth INR 1 crore was erected in Chennai, where action scenes and songs were shot for the film.

The movie was shot in several locations including Chennai, Senji, Ambur and Pondicherry.

Venkat Prabhu's brother Premgi Amaren, who had been part of all his brother's ventures, will be playing an "almost parallel role" as the lead character's best friend in 'Biriyani'.
