During a summer vacation, Dipanwita and her daughter, Hasnu, a rock band member, came to Kolkata. Dipanwita took her to a hilly forest to get an idea of rural Bengal. There she met a doctor, Utal who is serving in the area of the underprivileged adivasis and who is trying to build a hospital over there. But Hasnu is charmed by the magical voice of Utal which creates a new meaning of Bengali songs to her. She also feels a deep connection with the man for his dedication and love for the poor people. Dipanwita is deeply confused with her ex-love, Utal, her root and her daughter Hasnu.
