Actor Manoranjan Ravichandran, son of producer V. Ravichandran was selected for the lead role of this movie even before the release of his first film 'Saheba'.

The movie is an official remake of the blockbuster Tamil film 'Velaiilla Pattadhari' starring Dhanush in the lead role.

Impressed with the original movie, producer Rockline Venkatesh had bought the remake rights in Kannada from Dhanush's Wunderbar Films.
