This offbeat mystery drama revolves around the trials and triumphs in the life of Shyamu, an orphan, who has made stealing his career. However, he undergoes a change of heart while his mentor becomes hospitalised, and decides to go straight. Then, in a strange twist of fate, he finds himself mistaken for popular writer, Deepak, and treated with considerable respect. To his delight, he comes across an ailing Deepak, with whom he shares a striking resemblance. Deepak is ill and soon passes away, and giving in to temptation, Shyamu takes on his identity, and begins to romance the beautiful Mala. However, a certain police inspector, Kumar, is interested in Deepak, and is convinced that the person masquerading as Deepak, is really someone else. In this ultimate cat-and-mouse-game failure for Shyamu would mean the difference between life and death. Who will be the victor?

One day after pack-up, Amitabh noticed his car was missing, and was told by Mumtaz's driver that 'Madam had left in his Fiat.'
