Trivia:
Jacob references the play Hedda Gabler, mentioning that the actress in his production doesn’t understand the character. In real life, director Halina Reijn portrayed Hedda Gabler while performing with ITA, the Amsterdam theater ensemble where she acted for many years.

The milk glass scene in the film was inspired by a real-life experience of Halina Reijn. While visiting a bar alone in Belgium, she encountered a well-known Belgian actor—15 years her junior—who boldly ordered a glass of milk for her. Impressed by his confidence, she decided to drink the whole thing as a sort of reward, though she later admitted it left her feeling "a little nauseated."

Nicole Kidman’s iconic AMC promo, a staple in theaters since its 2021 debut, was removed from the pre-show reel before screenings of Babygirl, possibly to distance the brand from the film’s graphic opening scene.

Nicole Kidman won the Volpi Cup for Best Actress at the 2024 Venice Film Festival. However, just as she arrived in Venice for the closing ceremony, she received the heartbreaking news of her mother’s passing. Kidman had to leave Italy immediately, and director Halina Reijn accepted the award on her behalf.

Jean Reno filmed scenes for the movie, but his role was completely removed from the final cut.
