Shisham (1952)

Raj was heart broken after he loses his lover Kusum, and he leaves to a remote village to seek solace. There Raj found himself a house and in his seat of solitude he gets visited by the debonair Shisham, the village chieftains daughter, who provides him with customary hospitality. Shisham's friend Laado falls in love with Raj and confesses to him, gets rejected and leaves heartbroken. Laado plots a revenge to separate Raj and Shisham, by informing Shisham's mother. Shisham is kept under house arrest and Laado pursues Raj separately only to be met with more rejection. Laado orders her brother to injure Raj, who gets hospitalized. Raj escapes the hospital in a desperate attempt to meet Shisham, but gets run over by a speeding car. Shisham waits to hear from Raj who had been gravely injured.
